Teacher Professional Development

https://bit.ly/443BeFY   The Annenberg Learner Professional Development website offers free resources to support the professional growth of teachers across grade levels and subjects. It provides video-based workshops, classroom footage, and a variety of strategies that help educators connect theory to real-world teaching. The website's self-paced and user-friendly format allows for individual learning and collaboration for professional learning communities. Since it uses evidence-based techniques and real classroom examples, teachers can apply and reflect on the information to improve their instruction methods.

The design principles I implemented while developing my website were rooted in simplicity, content relevance, and user-friendliness. I used colorful fonts, images, and additional graphics to make the site appealing and engaging, but I did not use excessive amounts of these elements to keep my website consistent and easy to follow. For instance, each page on the site had titles bolded or colored, an image relevant to the page's content, and a consistent writing style, emphasizing consistency throughout the site. These elements also make it easy for me to add additional content throughout the school year! In my experience designing the website, I enjoyed the creativity and digital elements that went into the assignment. This assignment taught me a lot about what I might want to include in a website I may design in the future, and also what I would like to see in other sites I’m using. Additionally, the skills I used to complete this website will not only help me...

In the past, I have done group blogging for other class assignments. I have never blogged as a hobby or personal enjoyment, but there are certain topics that I feel passionate about blogging and sharing my experience with online. Additionally, blogs on the internet have been a great resource for researching information about topics such as cooking, fitness, life hacks, and so much more! I find blogs to be fun and personable, since they're written firsthand, which makes them more entertaining and engaging. Since I am not the strongest writer, I have found it somewhat challenging and unenjoyable to write blogs in the past. This class in particular has exposed me to more opportunities and experience writing blogs, which in turn will prepare me for the possibility of interacting with them in the future.      Artificial intelligence has advanced so rapidly in the world of education. There is no question that the endless benefits of AI can pro...

Throughout middle school and most of high school (approximately 6th through 11th grade), I primarily used MS Word to complete my school assignments. I mostly typed up essays and completed other writing assignments on MS Word, but I also have experience making brochures and flyers, creating and editing resumes, editing peer assignments, and many other personal projects I have taken on. Although I have much more experience with MS Word, over the past couple of years, I have used and become much more familiar with Google Docs. In my opinion, Google Docs is much easier to use on different devices, simpler to navigate, and much more user-friendly when working on group assignments because of the ability to collaborate with group members on the same document.      The ISTE Standard for Educators that is most meaningful to me is for an educator to be a learner and continue to improve their practice while staying consistent with their duties as an instruc...

In this class I hope to learn about how to properly and appropriately use technology in my life as a student and potential future instructor. Although technology is such a great tool to use in my professional as well as personal life, there are ways that this resource can be poorly utilized. In the case of AI for example, it can be misused and usage of it may be seen as dishonorable in the classroom setting. I am interested to learn how to appropriately use tools like AI to my advantage and enhance the learning experience for me, my peers, and my potential future students.      My experience and knowledge with technology is fairly basic and what you would expect from a student. I have experience in platforms such as Word, PowerPoint, Canvas, Google Docs, Google Slides, Canva, and social media apps such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and formerly Twitter. I have some but not a lot of past experience with apps like Excel and Access. Throughout my life ...
